THE DIVERSITY GAME™

An Innovative Tool to Explore the Game of Life

  • Are you puzzled by ‘diversity’?
  • Do you like playing cards?
  • Do you like to learn about the complexities of ‘identify’ and ‘self’ while enjoying yourself?
  • Would you like an opportunity to view the world from a different point of view?

If you answered ‘Yes’ to these questions, then we invite you the play the Diversity Game™.

What is the Diversity Game™?

A card game for groups of up to eight players based on the rules of the regular game of ‘pick up and put down’. As many groups can play as you have sets of cards! Players are dealt cards that contain different aspects of identity, and players must play the game according to given scenarios. Players must try to finish the game with cards that best maximise their chances of success (‘winning’ at life) within the given scenarios.

How Can I Play?

Zane Ma Rhea, the developer of the game, will consult with you and your organisation. Together, you can design a workshop that:

  • Puts the game into the specific context of your organisation
  • Determines the best place to play the game for your organisation
  • Allows for several plays of the game within the workshop
  • Enables participants to learn to facilitate the game as well as play it
  • Uses the experience of playing to game to reflect on personal and professional values, behaviour and power
